# Storydoc vs Roomi: an interactive deck or the working product

- Sources checked: 19 October 2026
- Built: 2026-10-20

Storydoc makes interactive presentations that can embed a website or any embed code, and, on its Team plan, can ask readers who they are before they open one. Roomi runs your working demo, on mock data, with a link for each person and a record of their visits and time in it. A Storydoc tells the story; the room lets them try it. Every line about Storydoc is from its own pages, with the day it was read. Roomi is ours.

## Where Roomi is different

- Your own build runs in the room, static or with a server: every button and screen works, on mock data.
- A private link for each person, with their name on it, and nothing for them to sign up for.
- Each person by name: their visits, their time on each app and page, how far they took the tour, and who they passed it to.
- Comments pinned to the screen they meant, and a next step each viewer chooses.
- Deploy the demo, and make each person’s link, from the Claude chat you built it in.

## Roomi and Storydoc, side by side

Each line about Storydoc is from its maker’s own pages, read on 19 October 2026. Each source is listed at the foot of the page.

| | Roomi (ours) | Storydoc |
|---|---|---|
| Lowest paid plan | £4 a month on Pro, billed monthly, or £40 a year, billed yearly. Before VAT. | Storydoc’s Starter plan is $33 a month billed monthly, or $19.80 a month billed yearly ($237.60 a year); Pro is $60 billed monthly, or $36 a month billed yearly. The page does not say whether a price is per user. |
| Free plan | Yes: Free: static demos, listed on the community at one public address, with total views. | Storydoc’s pricing page invites you to start free, but lists no free plan or what it includes. |
| Your own working app | Yes: Your own build, running: every button and screen works, on mock data. | Partly: A Storydoc presentation can embed an interactive website through its URL element, or any embed code through its Code element. |
| A demo that needs a server | Yes: A demo with a server runs as a container on Pro and up, with a copy of its own for each viewer. | Not listed |
| Who viewed | Yes: Each person by name: their visits, their time on each app and page, how far they took the tour, and who they passed it to. | Yes: Storydoc tracks the traffic to a deck and its readers’ behaviour, with alerts: limited on Starter, and full on Pro and Team. |
| Knowing who each reader is | Yes: Each private link carries one person’s name, on Pro. Anyone they pass it to is asked who they are. | Yes: Storydoc can make readers give their name or email before they open a deck, on its Team plan, which is priced on request; Starter and Pro do not include it. |
| Making the deck | No: Roomi doesn’t make slides or decks. It runs the demo you built. | Yes: Storydoc’s AI assistant can generate a whole deck from a request, on every plan. |
| A guided tour of the app | Yes: Drafted by Claude | Not listed |
| Works from Claude (MCP) | Yes: Deploy, links and answers from a chat | Not listed |

Storydoc and Roomi, side by side. What Storydoc does is from its own pages, read on 19 October 2026. Roomi is ours.

What the marks mean: “Partly” means partly, or with conditions; “Not listed” means not on their own pages.

## Where Storydoc is stronger

- A Storydoc presentation can embed an interactive website through its URL element, or any embed code through its Code element.
- Storydoc’s AI assistant can generate a whole deck from a request, on every plan.
- Storydoc can make personalised versions of a deck in bulk from a template: a limited number on Pro, unlimited on Team, and none on Starter.
- Storydoc can make readers give their name or email before they open a deck, on its Team plan, which is priced on request; Starter and Pro do not include it.
- Storydoc tracks the traffic to a deck and its readers’ behaviour, with alerts: limited on Starter, and full on Pro and Team.

## Where Roomi is stronger

- Your own build runs in the room, rather than a picture of it, or a page of it inside a deck.
- A private link for each person, and you see who they passed it to.
- Comments pinned to the screen they meant, and a next step they choose: a meeting, a yes, later, a colleague, a question, or not for them.
- Deploy the demo, and make each person’s link, from the Claude chat you built it in.

## For letting a buyer try the product, ranked

Ranked for one job: a client trying a working product, and you knowing what they did. Roomi is ours.

1. **Roomi** (ours) — your own build, running, at a private link for each person, with nothing to sign up for. You see their visits and their time on each app and page, by name.
2. **Storydoc** — best when what they need is a designed story, with a web page of yours embedded in it. A Storydoc presentation can embed an interactive website through its URL element, or any embed code through its Code element.
3. **A screen recording** — easy to send, but they watch you use it rather than try it.
4. **Screenshots in a deck** — no setup at all, and nothing to click. A deck tells you, at best, that it was opened.

## Questions

### Can I embed a Roomi demo in a Storydoc?

Not inside it: a Roomi room refuses to be shown in another site’s frame, so a Storydoc can’t embed it. Send each person their own Roomi link beside the Storydoc, rather than one link for everyone.

### Does Storydoc show who read it?

Storydoc tracks the traffic to a deck and its readers’ behaviour, with alerts: limited on Starter, and full on Pro and Team. Storydoc can make readers give their name or email before they open a deck, on its Team plan, which is priced on request; Starter and Pro do not include it.

### How much does Storydoc cost, against Roomi?

Storydoc’s Starter plan is $33 a month billed monthly, or $19.80 a month billed yearly ($237.60 a year); Pro is $60 billed monthly, or $36 a month billed yearly. The page does not say whether a price is per user. Roomi costs £4 a month on Pro, billed monthly, or £40 a year, billed yearly. Before VAT.

### Is Storydoc free?

Storydoc’s pricing page invites you to start free, but lists no free plan or what it includes. On Roomi, Free deploys static demos that can be listed on the community at one public address, with no private links.

### Can Storydoc make the deck for me?

Storydoc’s AI assistant can generate a whole deck from a request, on every plan. Roomi doesn’t make decks: it runs the product the deck is about, with a link for each person.

### Does my client need a Roomi account?

No. Their link takes them straight into the room, with nothing to sign up for. The link is their key, and it carries their name.

### What does Roomi cost?

Free costs nothing: static demos, listed on the community at one public address, with total views. A private link per person and everything each person did start on Pro, at £4 a month or £40 a year, before VAT.

### Do I have to tell a client their visit is recorded?

Yes. Before or when you send the link, tell each viewer who you are and how to reach you about their data. Tell them too that Roomi records what they do in the room and shows it to you. Our terms ask for both.

### Will I hear when a client comes back?

Yes. Roomi tells you when they come back to the room, so you can call while it’s fresh.

## Fair, and dated

Every claim about another product on this page is from that product’s own pages, each read on the day beside it, the oldest on 19 October 2026. Roomi is ours, and says so. If something here is out of date, tell us and we’ll fix it the same week.
