# What are demo environments, and how do Reprise, Saleo, Demostack and Consensus compare?

Demo environments show a vendor’s own product, not a recording. Reprise lays data over a live application or clones it, Saleo runs live demos inside the product, and Demostack clones a product’s front end. Consensus says it finds the people a demo is passed on to. None publishes a price. Roomi hosts a build that may exist nowhere else.

This guide is the other half of [the demo tools comparison](https://getroomi.com/compare/demo-tools), which covers tools that capture a product as screenshots or HTML. These four show a real product too, so it says where each is stronger, and where Roomi differs. We make Roomi, so weigh that. Every line about another tool is from its own pages, with the day it was read.

| Tool | What it shows the buyer, and what it costs | What it tells you about who looked |
|---|---|---|
| Reprise | Reprise can lay a prospect’s own data over a vendor’s live application, or clone the application. It quotes prices on request: a yearly platform fee with licences for each user. | Reprise says it tracks engagement by user, session or account. |
| Saleo | Saleo runs live demos inside the vendor’s own product, with demo data it generates laid into it. Saleo publishes no prices: its pricing page asks you to request them. | Not checked |
| Demostack | Demostack clones a product’s front end and simulates its back end. It publishes no prices, and says it costs more than many other demo tools. | Not checked |
| Consensus | What it shows was not checked. Consensus publishes no prices: it prices per-user licences, with optional usage-based extras, and asks you to fill in a form for a package. | Consensus says its Demolytics shows the stakeholders it discovers as a demo is shared on, beyond the people the link was first sent to. |
| Roomi (ours) | Your own build, running, on mock data: static builds on every plan, and apps with a server on Pro and up. Pro is £4 a month billed monthly, or £40 a year billed yearly, before VAT | Each person by name: their visits, time on each app and page, how far they took the tour, and anyone they passed the link to who says who they are |

“Not checked” means we have not read it on the vendor’s own page, so this guide says nothing about it.

## What do these tools do better than Roomi?

They are built for sales teams with a product already in production. Reprise lays a prospect’s data over that product, and Saleo runs live demos inside it. Reprise lists security certifications and single sign-on in every package. Demostack clones a product’s front end. Consensus says it finds the people a demo was passed on to.

- **Reprise.** Reprise can lay a prospect’s own data over a vendor’s live application, or clone the application. It quotes prices on request: a yearly platform fee with licences for each user. Reprise says it holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification, with single sign-on and role-based access in every package.
- **Saleo.** Saleo runs live demos inside the vendor’s own product, with demo data it generates laid into it.
- **Demostack.** Demostack clones a product’s front end and simulates its back end. It publishes no prices, and says it costs more than many other demo tools.
- **Consensus.** Consensus says its Demolytics shows the stakeholders it discovers as a demo is shared on, beyond the people the link was first sent to.

That last one is the nearest thing we know of to Roomi’s forwarded viewers, and it is a real strength. If your product already runs in production and a presenter shows it on a call, Reprise and Saleo are built for that job. [Can a digital sales room show a live product?](https://getroomi.com/guides/can-a-digital-sales-room-show-a-live-product) sets Reprise and Saleo beside the sales rooms.

## Where is Roomi different?

Roomi hosts a build that may exist nowhere else, often one you built with AI, on mock data, rather than dressing up a product you already run. Each person opens it alone, on a private link of their own, with a guided tour instead of a presenter. Its prices are published, and you buy it in the app.

- **A copy for each link.** A demo with a server runs as a container on Pro and up. Each private link gets a copy of its own, so one link’s changes never reach another’s. [Containers](https://getroomi.com/docs/containers) explains how.
- **Each person by name.** Their visits in order, their time on each app and page, how far they took the tour, and anyone they passed the link to who says who they are.
- **Their answer.** Comments pinned to the screen they meant, and a next step each viewer chooses.
- **A price you can read.** Pro is £4 a month, billed monthly, or £40 a year, billed yearly, before VAT. [Pricing](https://getroomi.com/pricing) has every plan.

## Do any of them publish a price?

No. None of the four puts a price on its pricing page. Reprise describes a yearly platform fee with a licence for each user, and Consensus per-user licences with optional extras. Demostack says it costs more than many other demo tools.

## Is a demo environment the same as a sandbox?

Close, but not always. A sandbox is a working copy of a product with sample data, kept apart from production. Demostack’s clone works like one, and Reprise can clone an application too. Saleo works inside the live product instead, with demo data laid into it. Several capture tools sell sandbox demos on their larger plans.

- **Navattic.** Navattic’s Growth plan adds sandbox demos, demo translation, email and Slack alerts, and sales integrations including Gong, Salesloft and Outreach.
- **Walnut.** Walnut’s Accelerate plan, $1,550 a month billed yearly, adds sandbox demos, prospect personalisation and Walnut Uncover. Uncover identifies anonymous viewers through ZoomInfo, Demandbase, 6sense or Clearbit.
- **Storylane.** Storylane lists private demo links, and sandbox demos, on its Enterprise plan, priced on request.

[The demo tools comparison](https://getroomi.com/compare/demo-tools) sets those three side by side with Roomi, and [the Storylane and Navattic alternatives](https://getroomi.com/guides/storylane-and-navattic-alternatives-when-you-have-the-real-app) ranks them for someone who already has the working app. [Interactive demo types explained](https://getroomi.com/guides/interactive-demo-types-explained) sets a sandbox beside the other kinds.

## Which of these shows who a demo was passed on to?

Consensus says it does: its Demolytics shows the stakeholders it discovers as a demo is shared on. Roomi does it by asking. Each private link carries one person’s name, and every browser that opens it is asked who they are. Someone it was passed to can say so, and appears under that link.

Consensus says its Demolytics shows the stakeholders it discovers as a demo is shared on, beyond the people the link was first sent to. Reprise says it tracks engagement by user, session or account.

On Roomi, a forwarded viewer shares the link’s copy of a demo with a server, so send each person their own link. [Sharing a private link](https://getroomi.com/docs/sharing) shows how the room asks.

## Choosing between them

- **Your product is in production, and a presenter shows it on a call:** Saleo or Reprise.
- **A complex product needs a clone a buyer can click through:** Demostack.
- **You need to know who a demo reached inside the buyer’s company:** Consensus.
- **You built the demo, often with AI, and it exists nowhere else:** Roomi.

Start with the demo. Deploy it on Free and open it as a viewer would. Then, on Pro, make each person’s link and send it to them.

## Questions people ask

### Do Reprise, Saleo, Demostack or Consensus publish prices?

None of the four does. Saleo publishes no prices: its pricing page asks you to request them. Consensus publishes no prices: it prices per-user licences, with optional usage-based extras, and asks you to fill in a form for a package.

### Is Roomi a demo environment?

Not in the same sense. It doesn’t dress up a product you already run. It hosts a demo you built, often with AI on mock data, and on Pro gives each person a private link to it.

### Can a buyer use a Roomi demo without a call?

Yes. They open their own link and go through it alone, with a guided tour if you wrote one, and nothing to sign up for. You see their visits and their time in it afterwards.
