Share a Windsurf app

You built it in Windsurf. Now show a client, privately.

Deploy the folder it built to Roomi. Each client gets a link of their own, with nothing to sign up for, and you see what they did.

What sharing from Windsurf gives you today

Each line about Windsurf is from its maker’s own pages, and each row that names Netlify is from Netlify’s, read on 20 October 2026. Each source is listed at the foot of the page.

The Roomi way, from the folder Windsurf built

Six commands, run by you or by your coding agent. Nothing goes live until you commit.

  1. Step one

Describe the demo, then rehearse it

Work in the folder Windsurf built, on your own computer, with any real data swapped for sample data. A Vite build, or a Next.js app exported as files, is a static demo on every plan. One that needs its own server runs as a container on Pro and up, on Node 24. The CLI’s first command describes the demo and leaves a guide written for your coding agent, so Claude Code or Cursor can run the rest. Deploy rehearses: it builds, checks for secrets and shows what would go live. Nothing has left your computer.

  2. Step two

    Put it live

Deploy again with commit, and the room is live. A new build can go to a preview first, for you to check before any viewer sees it. If a change goes wrong, roll back to the last good build. Each build keeps its log, for when one fails.

  3. Step three

Make a link for each person

On Pro, make a private link for each client, with their name on it. Send it yourself, by email or however you usually reach them. Or have Roomi email it to them for you: Send this for me in the app, or yes when Claude asks. Otherwise it sends nothing. When you send it, tell them who you are and that Roomi records what they do in the room for you. Our terms ask you to.

  4. Step four

See who looked, and what held them

Each person’s visits in order, the apps and pages they spent time on, how far they took the tour, and who they passed it to. Roomi tells you when they come back. Each week, a summary says who looked.

  5. Step five

Follow up while they’re still thinking about you

Each viewer answers “What happens next?”: a meeting, a yes, later, a colleague, a question, or not for them. Roomi ranks who to call first. Ask your own Claude to draft a follow-up from what they did. Nothing is sent until you send it.

Ways to share a Windsurf app with a client, ranked

Ranked for one job: a client trying the real thing, and you knowing what they did. Roomi is ours.

  1. Roomi (ours) — your own build, running, at a private link for each person, with nothing to sign up for. You see every visit, click and minute, by name.
  2. Windsurf’s App Deploys — Windsurf, now Devin Desktop, deploys an app to a public address ending in windsurf.build, hosted on Netlify, and says to deploy only code you are comfortable sharing publicly. Its Free plan allows one deployment a day, and Pro five. Windsurf’s App Deploys run through its Cascade agent, and are not available with the Devin Local agent.
  3. Claiming it into your own Netlify account — A Windsurf deployment comes with a claim link that moves it into your own Netlify account; unclaimed deployments may be deleted after a while. Netlify sets site-wide password protection in its dashboard, and it is not available on its credit-based Free and Personal plans.
  4. A screen recording — easy to send, but they watch you use it rather than try it.

Questions

Is a windsurf.build site private?
Windsurf, now Devin Desktop, deploys an app to a public address ending in windsurf.build, hosted on Netlify, and says to deploy only code you are comfortable sharing publicly. Its Free plan allows one deployment a day, and Pro five. For a client, put the build in a room instead, with a link for each person.
Is Windsurf the same as Devin Desktop?
Windsurf was renamed Devin Desktop on 2 June 2026, as an update to the same product; existing plans and prices stayed the same. Its app addresses still end in windsurf.build, so this page uses both names.
Why can’t I find App Deploys in Devin Desktop?
Windsurf’s App Deploys run through its Cascade agent, and are not available with the Devin Local agent. In Devin Desktop, formerly Windsurf, a new tab uses the Devin Local agent unless you have chosen another as your preferred agent; Cascade is the other local agent. So choose Cascade in the tab first. To share with a client privately, you need neither: deploy the folder to a room.
Can a client break the demo for everyone else?
No. Each private link to a container demo has a copy of its own. In a static demo, what the app keeps in the browser is each viewer’s own.
Does my client need a Roomi account?
No. Their link takes them straight into the room, with nothing to sign up for. The link is their key, and it carries their name.
What does Roomi cost?
Free costs nothing: static demos, listed on the community at one public address, with total views. A private link per person and everything each person did start on Pro, at £4 a month or £40 a year, before VAT.
Do I have to tell a client their visit is recorded?
Yes. Before or when you send the link, tell each viewer who you are and how to reach you about their data. Tell them too that Roomi records what they do in the room and shows it to you. Our terms ask for both.
Will I hear when a client comes back?
Yes. Roomi tells you when they come back to the room, so you can call while it’s fresh.

how we checked

Fair, and dated

Every claim about another product on this page is from that product’s own pages, each read on the day beside it, the oldest on 20 October 2026. Roomi is ours, and says so. If something here is out of date, tell us and we’ll fix it the same week.
