Short answers to the questions people ask first, each with the page that explains it in full.
Getting started
Can I sign up today?
Yes, in early access. Sign in at app.getroomi.com with GitHub, and your
account and a Free workspace are made on the spot; Google sign-in is open to
invited testers for now. Then add Roomi to Claude as a connector and
say "deploy it to roomi". For a container demo or a bigger build, run
the CLI with npx @pitch-product/cli, or install it with npm install -g @pitch-product/cli; the command is pitch throughout these docs. See the
Quickstart, Deploying from Claude and
Install the CLI.
What does it cost?
Free is £0, and is the plan every workspace starts on. Pro is £4 a month, for one person, and Team £5 a seat a month, for 2 to 5 people, before VAT; a year costs ten months. Organisation, for teams of more than 5, is by arrangement: contact sales. The paid plans are defined but cannot be bought yet. See Plans and limits.
What does Free include?
Five projects, static demos only, two deploys a day, and no private viewer links. A Free project is an unlisted draft only your workspace can open, or, once you list it and its community card passes the checks, public at one address for up to five people at once, with 100 hours of viewing a month across your public addresses. Its analytics are total views over the last 30 days, and its rooms carry the "Made with Roomi" mark. See Plans and limits.
Which AI tools work with it?
Claude in the app or on claude.ai, through the connector: add it, and say
"deploy it to roomi" in a chat. Claude Code, through the Roomi
plugin, in the demo's folder. And any agent that can run commands in a
terminal can run pitch, which rehearses by default and publishes only with
--commit. See Deploying from Claude and Build with your AI
agent.
Building a demo
What can I deploy?
Two kinds of demo. A static demo is a built folder of HTML, CSS and
JavaScript with an index.html. A container demo is a server, from a
Dockerfile, holding every app under its own path on one origin. See Static
demos and Container demos.
Can my demo use a real database or real API keys?
No. Every demo runs on mock data: every viewer gets a copy, so nothing in it
may be real. A demo's container has no internet, so it cannot reach a real
system, and pitch deploy stops if it finds a secret in the project or the
build. Seed the demo with mock data on every start. See Security and
privacy.
Is my code safe?
Your code runs only in its own container, as a user that is not root, with no
access to the platform's database, storage or secrets, and no internet. Nothing
leaves your machine until you run pitch deploy --commit, and only after a
secret scan. Demos are served from their own domain, apart from where people
sign in. See Security and privacy.
My demo is several apps on several ports. Can I deploy it?
Not as it is. A room loads your demo from one origin, so the apps have to be
served by one server, each under its own path. pitch init detects this and
prints the change it proposes; it never makes it for you. See
Troubleshooting.
What does pitch deploy do without --commit?
It rehearses: checks pitch.json, scans for secrets, builds, runs your demo on
this machine on the platform's own runner, runs each step of your tour, and
prints what would go live. Nothing is uploaded. pitch deploy --commit
publishes exactly what was rehearsed. See Quickstart.
Can I update a room that viewers already have links to?
Yes. Deploy again: the new build goes live, and everyone opening a link gets it from their next page load. Nobody's link changes.
Can I see a build before it goes live?
On your own machine, yes: pitch dev serves the real room around your
running dev server, tour and all, and nothing in it is recorded or sent. See
Preview locally. On the platform, not yet: pitch deploy
without --commit rehearses, and every --commit makes its build live at
once. Preview deploys are coming soon; see CLI.
Can I roll back?
Yes, in the app: the project's Builds tab lists every build, and Roll
back to this makes an earlier one live again. It does not count as a deploy.
pitch rollback is not built yet.
Does pitch work on Windows or Linux?
pitch login keeps its token in the macOS Keychain, so signing in needs a Mac
today. Elsewhere pitch can read a token from PP_TOKEN, but the app cannot
issue one yet. See Troubleshooting.
Running a pitch
Does a viewer need an account?
No. A private link is the viewer's way in: they open it, and the room opens. At a listed project's public address anyone can look, and only signing in to comment or react needs a GitHub or Google account. See Running a pitch.
Does a viewer have to give an email?
Only if they comment or react on a private link, which asks for one once, or if you turn on "Require an email to view" for the project. Nothing is ever sent to it, and it is not checked. See Running a pitch.
What if a link is forwarded?
Every browser that opens a link is asked "Are you Priya?", the first one included, so whoever opens it first is not taken to be her. Someone else can say who they are, and you see them on the link's pipeline card and in its journey. If more than one session says yes, the card says so. See Analytics and the pipeline.
A viewer lost their link. Can I send it again?
Yes. Copy link beside them, on the project's Links tab, their pipeline
card or their journey, copies the same address again; so do
pitch link copy "<their name>" and get_link from Claude. Each time is
recorded in the project's history. A link made before 1 October 2026 offers
Reissue link instead: the same viewer under a new address, with the old one
stopping at once. See Sharing a private link.
How do I stop a link working?
Revoke it, in the project's Links tab, with revoke_link from Claude, or
give it an expiry of 1 to 365 days when you make it. A revoked or expired link
stops working on the next request. See Sharing a private link.
Can I close a room for a while?
Yes: pause it from the project's Settings, with a note if you like. Every link shows a page saying the room is paused, until you resume it; nothing is deleted and the links do not change. See Pausing a room.
What can I see about each viewer?
On a paid plan: every visit, how long they spent on each app and page, the order they did things in, how far they took the tour, what they commented and which next step they chose. On Free: total views. See Analytics and the pipeline.
Does Roomi email me when someone opens a link?
No. Roomi sends no email at all today, so notifications, reminders and alerts are not built. The app shows what happened when you open it, and the pipeline's follow-up dates are reminders on the card only.
Can I use my own domain?
Not yet. Custom domains are planned for Team and Organisation; every room is at
<project>.getroomi.app today. See Plans and
limits.
Can my rooms carry my brand?
On a paid plan, yes: your name, accent colour and logo. On Free, a room carries a "Made with Roomi" mark, and the brand you set is kept for when you move to a paid plan. See Brand and next steps.
Can I work on a workspace with my team?
On Team or Organisation, yes: invite someone by email, and send them the link the app makes; Roomi sends nothing. See Teams and invites.
What happens if I go over a limit?
The thing you asked for is refused, with what your plan allows and which plan would allow more. Nothing is ever deleted: over the project limit, the ones used least recently are paused, and over the month's viewer-hours, rooms stop taking new visits without cutting anyone off. See Plans and limits.
Viewing a pitch
Is the data in the demo real?
No. Every room says so: "This demo runs on mock data. Nothing you do here reaches a real system." Change anything you like. On a private link your copy of the demo is your own, and nobody else sees what you do in it; at a public address everyone shares one copy.
Can I open the demo on my phone?
Yes. "Open on your phone" shows a QR code that opens the same app on your phone, as the same person. On a demo with a server, the phone joins the same copy, so what you do on one screen shows on the other. The code works for ten minutes.
What does the publisher see about me?
On a private link: the name they gave the link, anything you typed (a name, an email, comments, answers), and what you did in the room, with how long you spent on each app and page and whether you were on a phone, tablet or computer. Nothing inside the demo, and no IP address or location. At a public address: nothing about you, unless you sign in to comment or react, when they see your name, handle and avatar, never your email. See Security and privacy.
Why does it say the demo is full?
A listed project's public address lets five people in at once, and a container demo runs as many copies as its plan allows. Try again in a few minutes. See Troubleshooting.
Why did the demo pause?
A copy runs only while you are using it. Leave the tab hidden or untouched for ten minutes and it stops a few minutes later; Resume the demo starts a fresh copy. See Troubleshooting.
The community
Is my project public?
Not unless you list it and its card and build pass Roomi's checks. Every project starts as an unlisted draft that only your workspace can open. See The community.
Can I browse the community?
Yes, at the community page: every listed card, newest first, each opening its project in a new tab. Trending and categories are not built yet. See The community.
